New features: Reusable comments, assessment locking, and more

New feature highlights

Our team has been working hard over the past 4 months to bring new features to Crowdmark to improve your experience. The ideas for these new features came directly from you, our community of graders and instructors. Here is a recap of the new features with links to more information.

Crowdmark's new layout

Crowdmark looks different!

At Crowdmark we are dedicated to ensuring that our customers have an amazing user experience. The interface and workflow should be intuitive and easy to use and there is always room for improvement. To meet this goal we have rolled out Phase 1 of our dashboard redesign. It includes a full-width, responsive layout to make way for exciting new features coming in Fall 2015.

Demonstration of reusable comments

Reusable comments

Save time with reusable comments! Feedback from graders and instructors to students is paramount to effective learning. Crowdmark introduces a better way to reuse rich comments in response to student’s work. As you type, previous comments that match your text appear for selection.

Table with timing data

Timing data

We’ve added some extra information to the Dashboard and Grading team pages to help you better understand how time is spent grading by each of your team members and on each question.

Velocity (evaluations per hour):
This number shows, at the grader’s current speed, how many pages can be graded in an hour.

Grading time (hh:mm):
This number shows much time has been spent grading.

Assessment summary and results

You can now include more information for students when you return their graded work. We’ve added a panel called Student view settings, where you can write a message for your students and choose whether or not to include the Distribution of scores graph of class results.

Comparison of paper sizes

Support for legal-size paper

Equal opportunity for ALL! This means that images will no longer be stretched or compressed to fit 8.5 x 11 / A4 size. ANY size is now accepted but users who requested this feature were most interested in legal size.

Grid of assessments with a lock on top

Assessment locking

After an assessment is complete, the facilitator can choose to “lock” the assessment, which makes it read-only to everyone who has access. This is to ensure that no grades or information is edited when it shouldn’t be, and facilitators can rest assured that their old assessments are locked down.
