Crowdmark provides two ways to integrate with LMS system when using the LTI 1.3 integration:
Below you’ll find details of changes between the LTI Legacy and LTI Standard workflows.
Courses are created by initiating assessment creation in the LMS. This first assessment will open the course in Crowdmark, as well as triggering roster and team sync. Subsequent assessments are created in the LMS and linked to Crowdmark within that course shell. In order to sync, the course must be accessed via the LMS.
Courses are created by inserting an external tool module in the LMS course shell. Once the module exists, instructors can use it to click into Crowdmark. If the instructor does not already have a Crowdmark account, one will be created for them at this point. Once the Crowdmark course is created, roster and team sync may be initiated by the instructor. Assessments are created within Crowdmark, and do not automatically appear in the LMS (although they can be linked manually). Courses can be accessed and synced from within Crowdmark.
Assessment creation begins in the LMS. A LTI link must be created for each assessment in the LMS, then that link must be clicked to initiate assessment creation in Crowdmark. If the LTI link is ever deleted, a new LTI link must be created for the assessment, and a support request must be made to Crowdmark to re-link the assessment in order for actions such as grade sync to work.
Assessment creation begins in Crowdmark. Assessments are created by visiting the Crowdmark course page and clicking the Create assessment button. Assessments are not linked within the LMS course shell by default, but can be linked manually.
While duplication is not possible in the LTI Legacy flow, it is possible in LTI Standard. Instructors can follow instructions in our Help centre for duplication of Assigned assessments or Administered assessments.
With both integration types students can sign in to Crowdmark with an email and password here.
With the Legacy LTI workflow, students are linked directly to assessments. Students access via:
With the Standard LTI workflow, the student is linked to the course. They can access via:
